Saltmarsh Environmental Limited
The potential for ground contamination at a property represents not only an environmental concern, but also a possible financial and legal liability for purchasers and investors. However, with robust environmental due diligence undertaken at the desktop stage, these risks can be properly quantified, helping to minimise the potential for transaction delays, unexpected costs, and post-acquisition surprises
About
our company
With over 24 years of experience in the environmental sector, Saltmarsh Environmental offers a pragmatic and commercially focused approach to Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) for commercial property transactions.
Peter Freeman began his career in ground investigation and remediation, developing a strong technical foundation in contaminated land assessment. For 18 years, he worked within the real estate advisory division of CBRE, specialising in Environmental Due Diligence across all asset types throughout the UK and Europe. His clients have included institutional investors, private property investors, and real estate funds, providing strategic advice to support acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
In addition to undertaking Environmental Due Diligence assessments, Saltmarsh Environmental also provides peer reviews of existing EDD reports and independent advice on environmental risk, helping clients gain clarity and confidence in the information they rely on during transactions.
At Saltmarsh Environmental, we combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of property transaction dynamics, ensuring that environmental risks are clearly communicated, proportionate to the investment context, and effectively managed.
